Home Fries MADNESS!!!

8 Jun

Ahhhhh it feels great to join the blogging world again! For the past couple of months Al and I haven’t been blogging (craziness hit the Aguasvivas/Pagan household), but we sure as hell have been cooking! I mean come on we are foodies for god sakes, we never stop eating. So today I decided it was time!!! It was time to bring out the big guns. Breakfast with the Aguans (We too can be like Brangelina—Aguasvivas + Pagan= Aguans) Loving it! On the menu, eggs over easy, toasted wheat bread, and…drum roll please…. My one and only HOME FRIES!!! Ahhhh they are just savory goodness! Seriously, it’s not because I make them but they are just so damn good!!! My mouth is just watering! Drip! Drip! Okay so let’s get to it!

Pollo en Rajas Recipe

As you all know, Al and I have been on this crazy diet, which of course hasn’t done a damn thing for me! Not one pound! Not one freaking pound! I mean seriously I’m one step away from starvation! So yesterday, I had an epiphany. Not sure how, considering the lack of nutrients in my system! But I did! My epiphany… I am a FOODIE!! A REAL FOODIE! Not a fake one. Not one that pretends. But just an all around, food crazed, can’t imagine my life without it, FOODIE! And what does a foodie do, EAT!
–Ahhh sorry for the venting session but gosh that felt good to get out! (more…)

Ahhhh… Benihana!

9 Sep

Benihana's NYC

Last Saturday night we went to Benihana in NYC for my best friend, Carlos’s Birthday. It was my first time there but Carlos raves about this place. If you haven’t heard of Benihana, it’s a Japanese/Hibachi, family style restaurant. The chef cooks right in front of you and sharing a table is the norm. It was seven of us so we pretty much took over. Our chef, Jimmy…OOOHHH MANN…This guy was funny! He started joking with us and pretending to be Latino. He actually spoke Spanish pretty well. For the first ten minutes he kept saying his name was Jose and his favorite saying of all…”OHH JIMMY’S DAH MAN!” HaHa! He did a bunch of cool tricks, definitely an attention grabber. Menu time…I love food so everything sounded GREAT!! Eventually, I ordered the Benihana Steak…My choice: medium rare. I like a little juice, lol! The steak was accompanied by chicken and vegetable fried rice. One word: SLAMMING! Jimmy continued by throwing shrimps, zucchini, and other veggies on the grill. (more…)
