Our First Annual Cook Off!!! Could It Be?!!!

7 Mar

As you can see, Al and I haven’t been blogging lately due to this diet craze we’re on! I swear he’s become the food Nazi! Errrrrr! Since I haven’t been allowed to get near the kitchen, I’ve been trying to find ways to still incorporate food into my life. I mean it’s the least I can do! I am a foodie for god sakes! With that said, yesterday we attended “Jimmy’s No. 43 1st Souperama”—the bar, located on the lower east side of Manhattan, held a competition on the best tasting soup. Al’s friend, Serena, who blogs ( daily on her “soupy” experiences, competed in the event. It was pretty awesome! There were about 15 amateurs cooks who battled it out! Serena’s eggplant soup was amazing! The croutons were definitely the cherry on the sundae!

While at the event I started thinking what if Al and I could hold our very own event! A competition on the best dishes! Or a competition on a certain kind of dish! Or even better a competition on a certain type of food! Wowzers!! As I grew more and more excited about the idea, I couldn’t wait to share it with Al. The minute the event was over and we stepped one foot out the door, I began giving Al the lowdown. Next thing I knew, we were planning our own cook off! Of course the details need to be ironed out but this is definitely a go!!! We will be looking for: a location (which we kind of already have but we are totally open to new ideas), judges, and undoubtedly some good cooks! So to all you foodies out there join us in making our first annual cook off possible! I can’t wait to hear from you!

So from our kitchen to yours, let the cooking escapades continue!
