Macarones con Jamon y Chorizo Recipe (Pasta Recipe)

Pasta with Ham and Spanish Sausage

¼ cup olive oil
¾ pound of Chorizo
½ pound of Serrano Ham
1 medium onion (I used a red onion)
2 garlic cloves
1 small green bell pepper
2 cups of tomato sauce
3 tablespoons of white cooking wine
1 teaspoon of dried basil
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of pepper
½ teaspoon of paprika
½ cup of heavy cream
1 pound of tube pasta (I used Rigatoni)
½ cup of parmesan cheese
1 cup of whole milk mozzarella cheese
½ cup of Cheddar Cheese


1. Heat oil in large skillet (medium heat)
2. Add Ham & Chorizo- cook for about 3 minutes
3. Add onion garlic and bell pepper (all must be chopped)
4. Sauté for 5-7 minutes
5. Add tomato sauce, wine, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and paprika
6. Cook for 5 minutes
7. Reduce heat to low and add the Heavy cream
8. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes
9. Cook pasta in boiling water (I put it in for about 15 minutes) and add salt
10. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
11. Butter casserole dish (I say get an aluminum one, so you don’t have to wash dishes afterwards) I won’t make that mistake again!
12. Mix Pasta & Sauce
13. Stir in the Parmesan Cheese
14. Pour into the casserole dish
15. Add the Mozzarella & Cheddar cheese (If you are a cheese lover like we are, don’t hesitate with the cheese)
16. Bake for 15-20 minutes
